8 Biggest and best New Movies Arriving on Netflix in March 2023

A new month comes a new batch of Netflix movies, and if you're searching for the best of the best, we've trimmed down our 8 favourite (or most anticipated in certain cases) March 2023 movie releases.

As with all of our recent movie lists (such as the one for February 2023), we'll divide this one into two half. We'll start with Netflix Original movies, which will be released globally (unless otherwise noted), and then go on to licenced films, which will be released especially in the United States.

Top Netflix Original Films Due in March 2023

The Falling Sun, Luther

The release date for Netflix is March 10th.

Idris Elba reprises his role as John Luther, a man with unfinished business.

Directed by Jamie Payne, we'll see Luther on the hunt for one of London's most heinous serial killers, and our former detective will go to any length to stop him.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to see Luther on Netflix before its release, but we expect they'll do an amazing job of bringing you up to speed in the film's early scenes.

Murder Mystery 2 will be available on Netflix on March 31st.

As Nick and Audrey Spitz, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston reprise their roles in the murder mystery comedy.

The Spitz's are now full-time investigators, battling to get their agency off the ground, but after being invited to a wedding, a case falls into their laps once more.

The Netflix sequel stars Mark Strong, Mélanie Laurent, Jodie Turner-Smith, John Kani, and Adeel Akhtar.

The Magician's Elephant will be available on Netflix on March 17th.

The Magician's Elephant is an adaptation of Kate DiCamillo's novel by Netflix's newly acquired animation company, Animal Logic.

The animated film's plot revolves around an orphaned child who is told by a fate teller that an elephant will help him recover his missing sister.

The film's voice cast includes Brian Tyree Henry, Natasha Demetriou, and Mandy Patinkin.

We've seen screeners for the film and can't yet share our impressions, but if this is what Animal Logic will be producing for Netflix in the future, we've got a lot to look forward to.

Kill Boksoon will be available on Netflix on March 31st.

Netflix's Korean film output has taken a significant leap forward in 2023, with two successful releases in the form of Unlocked and JUNG E.

Kill Boksoon, from the same filmmaker as The Merciless and Kingmaker, follows a renowned assassin who also works as a single mother to a teenage daughter.

Jeon Do-yeon, Sol Kyung-guy, and Kim Si-a star in the film.

The Hangover Series

Netflix will release it on March 1st.

It's always good when Netflix obtains a complete collection of movies, which will be the case with two franchises in March 2023, with The Hangover movies being the best, in our opinion (the other is the Riddick franchise coming in the middle of the month).

The Hangover trilogy, directed by Todd Phillips and running from 2009 to 2013, has become iconic, with many quotable scenes throughout.

For those who are unfamiliar, the first Hangover film is about three friends waking up the wake after a crazy night in Las Vegas with no memory of the previous night and having to retrace their steps to figure out precisely what they were up to.

Kick-Ass 2 will be available on Netflix on March 16th.

However, Millarworld on Netflix hasn't given much in terms of entertainment so far, with only a cancelled sitcom and an admittedly quite good animation published.

Happily, the second Kick-Ass film will be out in the middle of the month, and while it isn't as good as the first, it's still a great comic frolic.

Jeff Wadlow directs the film, which stars Chloe Grace Moretz as Hit Girl and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kick-Ass.

Being dragged on concrete (2018)

Netflix will release it on March 16th.

Mel Gibson's movies consistently rank in the top ten on Netflix, so you'll be glad to know that one of his most recent films, in which he collaborated with Vince Vaughn and Tory Kittles, was released in the middle of the month.

The slow, methodical, precise, and often brutal film follows the story of two police investigators who, after being suspended, descend into the criminal underworld and discover more than they bargained for.

Lionsgate Pictures and the filmmaker of Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99 are behind it.

This Is Where I Leave You will be available on Netflix on March 2nd.

The comic ensemble from 9 years ago from Warner Bros. features the talents of Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Drive, Rose Bryne, Corey Stole, Kathryn Hahn, and a slew of other well-known personalities.

The comedic drama, directed by Shawn Levy (who currently works with Netflix on a variety of projects), depicts the story of four grown siblings who return to their childhood home and live under the same roof for a week.

The Hollywood Reporter described the movie a "potty-mouthed comedy with enough impatience, aggravations, long-standing grievances and get-me-outta-here moments of family stress to strike a chord with anyone who's ever had to endure massive clan reunions that might have lasted a touch too long.
